The Melbourne Storm overcame a resilient Leeds to win the Rugby League World Club Challenge on Sunday February 28th. I had the honour of addressing their staff and players in the weeks leading up to this game and they impressed me across a range of issues. A well organised performance plan sees a very credible integration of all services to the team. Playing in the world's best Rugby League competition there can be no short-cuts to success and the Storm have unmeasurable structures in this respect.
Their use of the Physical Competence assessment has illustrated the detail one needs to go to assuring that the players are receiving the most accurate training interventions. Alex Corvo who leades their S&C operation is a very smart practitioner and his influence can be seen across many facets of the operation. My thanks to them all for their hospitality and I wish them well for the forthcoming NRL season.
